This book presents the work of Salah Elmur (born 1966) an artist, graphic designer, filmmaker, and author whose practice unfolds as a visual anthology of real and fictive events. Through strongly symbolic and vividly colored paintings, Elmur combines disparate, emblematic elements and introduces figures drawn from what he calls his “cerebral boxes.” Having lived between Sudan, Kenya, and Egypt, his work reflects layered experiences of people, nature, and wildlife across these contexts.

His subjects carry viewers into new realities where relationships shift and nostalgia prevails, while expressing a deep sympathy for the human spirit and its diverse traditions and cultures.
